FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES AND WELLNESS STUDENTS
Hello, we are happy to offer our Open Access availability this semester.
There will be two types of Open Access offered this semester. Please be sure to choose the appropriate one. "SIM" is only to be booked by BScN students in courses NURS 150, BScN 3001, BScN 3601 or BScN 4001.
Traditional open lab – limit 16 students - open lab where students will be allowed to work at their own pace
Simulation specific lab – limit 4-6 students - a more focused Simulation lab where the facilitator will be working on more specific items related to simulation scenarios
If you are not a BScN student in one of the SIM courses and you book a SIM Open Access session your booking will be cancelled and you will not be allowed to participate.
Students will be limited to booking one SIM-specific spot and three upcoming traditional spots. You can only book one per week.
We are now allowing walk-ins if space is available but you must still sign up upon your arrival.
NOTE: If you are looking to practice with friends or classmates, they MUST also sign up for the same timeslot as you or they will not be permitted to enter the lab.
Upon booking you will receive a confirmation email and a reminder email two days before your session.
Please ensure you come in full professional uniform and with your lab kit supplies.
Entering the Nursing Lab – Students will sanitize their hands prior to entering the lab. Hand sanitizers are located in the hallways outside the labs.
If you arrive late, please ensure you let the supervising clinical teacher know you have arrived and sign in with that person. It is essential we have an accurate log of students attending the Open Access labs.
